Packing order

Pack the rig in an order that still makes sense after a long workday.

The easiest checklist to follow is the one that matches how gear actually moves from the garage to the campsite.

Step 1

Documents and route

  • Reservation email, campsite number, and gate code
  • Insurance card, registration, roadside plan
  • Offline map or printed turn list for weak-signal roads
  • Weather check for the first night and morning departure
Step 2

Heavy gear before the soft stuff

  • Wheel chocks and leveling blocks
  • Power cord, surge protector, hose, pressure regulator
  • Tool roll, gloves, flashlight, spare fuses
  • Grill, camp chairs, outdoor mat, lanterns
Step 3

Kitchen and first-night food

Fill the easy meals first. Coffee, skillet breakfast, sandwiches, and one dinner that does not depend on a long cleanup.

Keep the cooler visible. The last grocery bag in the house is usually the one left behind.

Pack paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap with the cookware. They vanish from memory the moment the plates are loaded.
